SAD BREAKING BEAUTY NEWS-Estee Lauder Announced "Prescriptives" Closing

The end of an era.... Estee Lauder announced yesterday that it will be closing Prescriptives and will cease distribution globally by January 31, 2010.

Why is "Prescriptives" closing? Estee Lauder reports "It just wasn't successful anymore" and that the Estee Lauder companies have been hit hard by the economic crisis, so it seems as though they are trimming the fat.

I hate to see a brand as AMAZING and diverse as Prescriptives go. As everyone knows its very difficult for very fair and very dark women and frankly everyone in between to fine the proper foundation. Prescriptives is one of the very few brands that offer fantastic products to ALL women.

My suggestion for those of you that don't know where to go when you can't get Prescriptives anymore..... "3 Three Custom Color specialist"

  1. Sad about Prescriptives. I don't understand how Estee Lauder can close the doors on a line that really trail-blazed color coding foundation for all races. For years I looked for a line that could make my color...antelope was it w/ yellow as the base. I remember how Fashion Fair would make my mom look red and there was no where to run until Prescriptives custom blending. Sad indeed.

  2. I just about fainted when I heard about this! I couldn't believe it. I hope there isn't another line Lauder is going to do this to.
